SONYA AYLMORE-NASH - Owner Operator

Introducing Sonya, our dedicated owner here at Elite FDC:

Hello everyone Im Sonya the director and owner of Elite Family Day Care, With over 28 years experience in FDC. I have undertaken many roles through these years from a child growing up in a FDC home then becoming an educator running my own FDC businesses to now supporting FDC educators throughout WA.

One of our strongest values at Elite include respectful and reciprocal relationships. This underpins my practice and ensuring decisions are considered from both the view points of Educators operating in their home and the legislative requirements in operating a service.

My qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Children's Services. Additionally I have completed courses in education (teaching) hospitality, nutrition, business and franchising.

 

JENNA BROWN - Educational Leader

Located in Joondalup, Jenna is our Service Educational Leader / Business Development Manager. Here is some more about her:

I have worked in the childcare sector for 10 years now, with experience in long day care centers, Nanning, OSCH and 5 years in Family Day Care. I have my diploma in children services and am taking a short break from my Bachelor of teaching - Early childhood degree. I am the secretary of the Educational Leaders Association and thoroughly enjoy my role of leading the design and implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework.

Leading and mentoring educators is a passion of mine, as I believe this creates wonderful respectful and reciprocal relationships between the service, educators, families’ and staff.

Once introduced to Family Day Care I fell in love! Having quality education in a calm, nurturing and homely environment felt so right for me. I was very lucky to use this opportunity to run my own service when my children were small, before joining the management team again. My passion for Family Day Care comes from seeing the benefits it brings not only children but families as a whole.

 

JAC CONDREN - Business Development Manager

Located in Mandurah, Jac is one of our Business Development Managers, here is a little about her:

I completed my Certificate III in childcare and then went on to complete my Diploma in Children’s services while working in a Long Day Care service. I then discovered Family Day Care and opened my own business, I thoroughly enjoyed my 10 years as an educator. For me personally I love that Family Day Care allows children to develop their unique individual interests naturally in a family environment, while allowing them to be part of the planning process in how they might like to spend their day. It gives educators the opportunity to spend quality time with each child, encouraging and allowing them to develop at their own pace. Since taking on the Business Development role, i really enjoy mentoring educators and ensuring the best quality outcomes for children.

 

JANET ALLEN - Business Development Manager

Located in Albany Janet is one of Business Development Managers. Here is some more about her:

I have been with Elite for 3.5 years now, after being in long day care for 12 years, Mobile child care in the Wheatbelt for 3 and a FDC Educator for 5 prior to that.

I have an Associate Degree in Children Services and have worked in the Industry for around 25 Years.

I thoroughly enjoy my role, initially as a Business Development Manager and now in the office doing very varied tasks. My Job is to support our team, Fill in where required and lots of tasks in between. My Interest and emerging passion is trauma informed practice and teaching children protective behaviours.

I also work Casually with ST John as a First Aid Trainer (18 years) teaching mainly the HLTAID004 Education and Care setting First Aid Package.

I love the fact we have such dynamic staff and educators who bring with them a world of experience and teaching. I love learning from others as learning is a 2 way street, we all have something to contribute and life is a learning curve with everything we do and experience. I love the passion and joy children bring to our worlds.

Located in Leederville, Whitney is one of our Business Development Managers, here is a little about her:

My name is Whitney and I have worked in education for over 10 years. I hold a diploma in children’s services and have experience working in long day care, nannying, oshc services along with disability support for young children.

Early years education is a passion of mine, as I believe it is the foundation for life. I feel the home away from home environment allows children to reach their full potential. Giving children the freedom to explore their individual interests in a safe, natural family environment.

I enjoy building relationships and mentoring educators and families with a focus on providing a quality and inclusive service, where all families feel supported and welcomed. My passion for family day care comes from my own time as a child in a family day care setting.

 

MARIA CARABETTA - Business Development Manager

Located in Leederville, Maria is one of our Business Development Managers who specializes in Accountability and Integrity, here is a little about her:

My name is Maria, I have worked in Early Childhood Education since 1999 and have worked primarily in long day care services all throughout Perth as Lead Educator and Director. I have recently returned from 3.5 years in Dubai in the Australian International Nursery as Compliance Manager.

I have my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and am a Trainer and Assessor teaching Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Some of you may remember me from when I was with Elite and left in 2013 to have my second baby Oscar and then moving my family to United Arab Emirates! It’s great to be back and I look forward to seeing existing educators and meeting the new members of the Elite family!

 

 

AMBER ALLEN - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ASSISTANT

Based in Albany I have been with Elite since 2017 as a Business Development Manager Assistant / Administration Support Officer.

My role includes an all rounder perspective, from processing time-sheets, to entering enrolments, and on occasions I’m out meeting our beautiful educators for support / compliance visits.

I have always had an interest in early education with many years’ experience in centre-based childcare. I completed my certificate III and then went on to complete my diploma in children's services. Since being introduced into family Day care, I have an absolute love for the real home away from home experience especially for my little man.

 

LECHELLE BARRADEEN - CCS PROCESSING COORDINATOR

I'm Lechelle and based in the Albany Office, my role is Office Support & Processing Coordinator. I have been with Elite (formerly LGSFDC) for 12 years. I was an Educator myself from July 2007 through to December 2008, when I made the decision to close my service. I was then offered a position alongside Sonya in the office. I have been in my role here at the office for 10.5 years and counting! My role includes nearly anything and everything to do with Child Care Subsidy and Compliance.

I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Elite team and watching it grow; from just 11 Educators when I started to now 80 plus!!

 

ROCHELLE BEVILAQUA - ACCOUNTS PAYABLE AND RECEIVABLE

I have been working for Elite since April 2014 from the Albany office. My background being in accounting and general administration. I have achieved my Certificate III in Business Administration, heavily focused on accounting.

My current role is as the parent payment coordinator and Elite Childcare accounts payable and receivable. This requires me to reconcile every bank account, credit card and prepaid card each month. I also handle all records and accounts for our Business Development Managers and from time to time Debt collection lodgements with our debt collector for unpaid fees.

As you can see I’m quite the busy bee!!! I'm also very much a facts person, due to the requirements of my role.

I have had no previous experience with day care except as a parent that preferred family day care over long day care centres. I could foresee see my child being lost in the system and preferred the homeliness of family day care for my own children.
